Anyone familiar with laws that are pushing for an electronic medical record? - electronic health record legislation

I am interested in the search for laws that implement pressure on suppliers of healthcare electronic health record. I am also interested to know who lobbies paid for this kind of legislation by promoting. I suspect that some of the beneficiaries of this, software companies that write software for EMR largely driving.

From what I've seen what everyone wants to not only software companies.

The government wants as to reduce fraud and if something is investigating the process easier and less expensive.

Most hospitals want and in the end will be cheaper. Comlain some of the costs and the cost of training, but will always be cheaper.

Groups like the AARP wants, so that if someone in another hospital, a doctor in a position to quickly access a complete medical history is.
